Big Sky Events

Big Sky, Montana is full of action, winter and summer.

In the winter, Big Sky Resort opens for the ski season on Thanksgiving Day and closes in mid April each year.  There are music festivals, holiday events, daily live music throughout Big Sky, and things you don’t want to miss on the slopes.

Summer in Big Sky is filled with weekly activities – Farmer’s Markets, Music in the Mountains summer concert series, outdoor BBQ’s, the Big Sky PBR, and lots more.

Farmer's Market

SUMMER - June-August


The 14th Annual Farmer's Market is held every Wednesday in the summer from 5pm-8pm from Fire Pit Park to the Town Center Plaza. They have over 90 vendors every year!

Music in the Mountains

SUMMER - Thursdays, July-September


Free outdoor concerts at the Center Stage at Len Hill Park. Enjoy incredible live music in the perfect setting - under the Big Sky!

Artisan Festival

SUMMER - usually around July 2nd


Join us for a wide range of local and regional artists, demos and delicious food!

Big Sky PBR

Usually around July 18-20


The Big Sky PBR has grown into "Big Sky's Biggest Week". There's a full week of events for the community, including three nights of Professional Bull Riding, concerts, kid friendly activities, golf, street dances, bingo, mutton busting & more!

Wildlands Festival

Usually the first weekend in August.


Stay Montana is delighted to sponsor this year's Wildlands Festival in Big Sky! Amazing music, PLUS the largest river conservation effort in history!

Haunted Peaks Halloween Festival

Usually around October 28 - 30, 9am-5pm


This three-day Halloween celebration is for everyone of all ages to enjoy! With costume parties and a haunted pub run, there's tons of fall fun to be had!

Big Sky Big Grass

SPRING - Usually around March 31st-April 3rd


Ski all day, dance all night at this 4-day music festival!

Big Sky Christmas Stroll

Early December


Be a part of this great holiday tradition in beautiful Big Sky, MT. From photos with Santa Clause, to sleigh rides, and an array of jaw-dropping light displays there is so much fun to be had on this special evening kicking off the holiday season!

Big Sky Resort Opening Day

Big Sky Resort opens on typically Thanksgiving day! Have some fun in the snow!
